Our Ministry
At JCs Soul Food Cafe we are committed to helping those who want to bring more to their worship teams and services develop the skills and musical concepts that, along with a growing relationship with God and the people in their congregations, will allow them to reach deeper into themselves and to touch others more deeply as they offer themselves in their ministries.
In Practical Terms
How do we get further down the road than we are now? By walking.
We are going to try to do our best to start wherever you are on your musical journey and take you step-by-step a little further along. We'll introduce some techniques and along with them we'll endeaver to give you some practical applications for them that you can try right away.
Please spend some time with each lesson or item and really work your ears as much as your fingers and hands. If you can understand the concepts, hear them in your head before you play them, and execute them on your instrument with minimal effort it becomes easy to always play something that supports the song, the worship leader, and whatever the Holy Spirit has in mind. It's a pretty good payoff for your efforts!
Where Are We Going?
Over the course of the next several months or years, we will introduce you to key concepts that help you find notes and melodies that genuinely touch people. Along the way we'll also talk about different ways of playing those notes and why it matters.
